Title: The Body Finder

Author: Kimberly Derting

Genre: Paranormal, young adult

Pages: 355

Stand alone or series book: first of a series

Summary: Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world... and the imprints that attach to their killers. Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

My Review: Violet is a very strong character in this book, she has a special gift for finding dead bodies. I know what your thinking, dead bodies that sounds so creepy. And well yes I guess it is, this book is defiantly on the darker side. However I found it was very well written and again I found that I couldn't put this book down.

I absolutely loved how Derting had chapters from the killers point of view. It really kept me guessing who the  killer was, this book takes some un-inspected twists and turns and are different from any other books that you've read. I don't recommend this book to young readers, it might be a little to much for them. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
